Joint Pain In A 6 Year Old

Among the rivers of Lambrusco, art, risottos and stews

Weekend Epiphany traveling. First stop: Mantova. Mantua is a truly amazing city. I thought it was just a nice town with a variety of works of art to see and nothing more.
Instead, I discovered a city rich in history and culture that would need to be well-visited and appreciated far more time than I've been there.
The weather that I happened to be rather cold, rainy and foggy helped make this very charming town, surrounded by an equally attractive river (the Mincio) and a beautiful park.

is ideally begins to visit the city from the Castle of San Giorgio, with its four towers and the perimeter is surrounded by water (stupendo!).

piazza Sordello Of great interest with its many buildings including the Palazzo Ducale (whose history is identical with that of Gonzaga) and the Duomo (the museum as well as Nuvolari, a native of this city), the beautiful Piazza delle Erbe, Palazzo della Ragione, the unique and attractive Round San Lorenzo, the Clock Tower and the Merchant's House .

Not to forget that Mantua is the birthplace of Virgil, have a look impressive statue dedicated to him in the square Virgil.
But what I think is really worth to see in Mantua is the Palazzo Te " whose interior rooms were the work of Giulio Romano, commissioned by Federico II Gonzaga. Three rooms are sumptuous and in particular I think are among the most beautiful things to see in Italy: the Hall of Giants, one of Cupid and Psyche and the Sala dei Cavalli reminiscent of the glorious teams Gonzaga, at that time famous throughout Europe .
addition to works of art, there are also those of Mantuan cuisine that I have partly discovered and partly had the pleasure of riassaggiare.
Walking features arcades of the city before dinner, you can stop for a delicious coffee drink in some well-known (such as Venice Coffee) and take the "cocktail Gonzaga, "which is very rich and provides, among other things, a good glass of Lambrusco Mantovano (I drank more and excellent in the various places where I've tasted) and a few stuffed tortellini with pumpkin-flavored cake, which is different from those in other locations, such as Ferrara.
And since the taste of pumpkin ravioli is always a taste, you want to eat a much larger dish. Do not worry, we can refer early for dinner! In this regard, a suitable place to dine, a bit away 'from the center, the restaurant can be "Two Cavallini (Via Salnitro, 5 Tel 322 084 0376). This restaurant offers good pumpkin ravioli but other delicious cooked first as the angels in all possible versions, the macaroni to the sauce horse stew and various types of pasta cooked in the traditional way.

For main course you can eat a horse Lambrusco stew with polenta or boiled excellent with delicious mustard sauce and green valances, or, to remain on the classic, always served with a mixed grill polenta. And finally, even to say, a slice of the cake sbrisolona Mantua par excellence, made with corn flour and almonds.
One can not mention when it comes to kitchen valance, although it was not in the menu of the Two Cavallini risotto alla pilota. This first course is so named because the pilot is someone who works at the pile of rice, the plant where the rice is cleaned, processed and prepared for sale. This is basically a rice flavored with Parmesan and sausages valances, cooked with a particular procedure. The process to make it in itself is not difficult, but we must be attentive to the balance between the ingredients, including the cooking water. I solemnly pledge to publish in an upcoming post for you the special recipe of this delicious first, I discovered some time ago thanks to Doc Chiara valance.
Another place I recommend for dinner / lunch is the Osteria dell’Oca (Via Trieste, 37 Tel. 0376 327171) un locale caldo, all’antica, rustico che propone piatti della vera cucina mantovana, preparati con maestria e passione e serviti a volte in tegamini in rame.

In short, this is also a place to report and score for an upcoming trip to Mantova.
For gourmet shopping to take home as fresh pasta and ravioli, a place not to miss the Cold Bakery in Piazza Cavallotti, 7 from which you can also enjoy great specialty cakes. And finally, from portions of the stadium and the Palazzo Te, I point out an interesting and great store of Mantua fresh and processed agricultural products from producer to consumer (Contadinostrano - Kilometrizero, Viale Isonzo, 18/20 - Tel 0376/1693924) : from what little I saw, this shop seems mythical!
